No SU will be playing in the Starfire tournament that weekend. The Sounders Cup I think it is. You got it right, and thanks Quiller. The NWN were not at their best yesterday against ECFC, but won in kicks against Maui (tie breaker) to advance to the final today. Eastside scored first today, but NWN came back and scored three unanswered to take the match. It will be great to get our two forwards back and also our starting center back, but the team performed very well without them. Looking forward to the Crossfire Challenge. Will SU be there?

Now that SU is accepted in the RCL I wonder what division the 95 Copa team will be placed. How will the decsision makers choose? Will it be based on tournament outcomes or will they just take over the ECFC team. They won't have much of a history to go by.
Any thoughts?

Pretty quiet around here, must be the heat. Some interesting match upsthis weekend. I wonder if Tardis will tell us what to expect from NWN blue on Saturday in Snohomish. Who is Atlaz? Will NWN red dominate in redmond? I think this is the team on the move this year, 2011 State Champs? How will the new look GRFC fare? Where is Blackbird? Hmmmm.. Think I should take on some more fluids. Must be the heat.

Is Seattle United Copa the "A" team? For that matter, is there more than one team for this age group at Seattle United?
Hammerfan, it must be the heat but I have always heard that cold beverages are the best way to remedy the heat. Keep hydrating!!!

Hammerfan, NWN Blue is a little banged up, and we have some tough competition in our bracket at the Snohomish Invitational. We played a shorthanded Eastside B tonight, to a 5-0 game. We didn't have a ref, and game was getting a bit physical, so coaches ended game a bit early.

OK, there is a boy's thread. Yeah!! Sorry, it's the little things that get me excited. Good luck to all of your teams this weekend. We will be at the Crossfire Challenge with both boys.

That's awesome Tardis. The NWN 95 Blue team will definitely be a force this year. You guys have made it to the finals, or semi-finals of every tournament you've played so far - correct? The NWN 95 Red team made it to the finals today of the Crossfire Challenge, but lost to the SSC Eagles 2-1. That's the third time the Red team has made it to the finals so far, winning twice and losing today. I think the NWN will have the best A/B team combo for this age group by the time the fall season gets here.

Does anyone know which boys made it through to the next round of the ODP regional camp? I have heard some rumors but not the complete story.

It should be posted soon at www.regionIV.com and on WYS site. There were a few surprises and changes this year, great competition. My ds went into camp with a hip flexor injury that slowed him and cost him his spot from last year according to regional coach. Just being there and competing was good for their development and being able to get to play at that level is tremendous. I won't post names but congrats to all the Wa. 96 boys who worked hard and continue to represent Wa. on the ODP regional team.

Thanks mhall, He's fine actually to play just not 100% that you need to be at that level and move on. It's ok for him because he is young and also now gets to go to Virginia beach with his team.

Looks like Region IV has the 96 Boys Pool listed. Here's the link: http://www.regionIV.com/odp/boyspools.htmI believe this is the most current list and breaks down like this per player per state: CA - 21, OR - 9, WA - 7, NV - 2, ID - 2, CO - 2, AZ - 2, HI - 1, AK - 1 and UT - 1. It looks like there are some new players in the pool from WA, but I think the overall number, 7, is the same as last year. Is that right Westcoast?

This reflects the quality of players at this age for Wa.. Not to put favortism toward Ca. as they are deep in talent but the Regional staff from Ca. chose for the most part a whole new group of players for the pool. Most of last years Ca. pool went to Academy and did not participate in ODP. Out of 48 21 from Ca.

1 - Crossfire 2 - Eastside 3 - WPFC 4 - NWN 5 - ECFC 6 - Timbers 7 - GRFC 8 - River City Steelers 9 - Sun City 10 - Crossfire 11 - harbor 12 - WPFC 13 - SSC elite 14 - HP Heat 15 - FCV 16 - Shadow 17 - Evergreen 18 - Crossfire 19 - FWU Storm 20 - Westsound
I think snomish should be in the top ten of BU15 top 20. Their hard work this year will make them a force in league and state cup. i think they are your sleeper team for this year.

Seattle United plqyed in Lake Oswego this weekend and had a good showing. They won 2 and lost 1.
The one they lost was to the host team, the score was 2-1. SU outplayed them, unfortunately the crossbar kept getting in the way. The game was called with fifteen minutes left in the game due to an injury to one of the Cosmos players. The coach for the Cosmos (host team) came onto the field and demanded the game be called right then and there, hadn't even asked the kid how he was doing. The ref said no but the coach kept badgering him to call the game. The ref finally called the game. The tournament director said there was nothing he could do even though both teams were still on the field and it would of only set the tournament back 15 more minutes.
Was this the right decision by the ref and tournament director? Obviously I don't but I've never run a tournament.
What say you?

Home Cooking, is what I say. The Tournament Director could have simply disqualified the host team and sent their opponents through based on Coaching Misconduct leading to the abandonement of the game. Seattle United plqyed in Lake Oswego this weekend and had a good showing. They won 2 and lost 1.

Here's some additional information to upset the SU fans. The kid played the next day!
Here's anothe question regarding this tournament. You have a fairly large group of teams with a tournament in a metropolitan area with a major sponsor and the majority of the games are played on potholed grass fields. This is two tournaments in a row where the fields have been cr**. What gives? The competition was great, the games were ran on time just the fields weren't up to snuff.
Storm and SU played a very competitive game on Friday night. Too bad the game was decided by a PK with little time left in the game. Fun game to watch though! I keep saying this, this age group is going to be a lot of fun to watch during the season. Beyond anything else the number one team in this age bracket placed a close second in the nation. Wow!!

Mhall, are you sure that he played against FW the next day? The Cosmos told us one of our parents that the kid was out for a year. He was going down to California this week for the ODP training.
The fields were kind of bad weren't they? We had a great time down there and it was the first time the team had a chance to hang out and the kids had a blast.
SU and FW have had to thrilling games so far this year, maybe a start of a nice rivalry? Overall wasn't too impressed with the officiating that game.

We were with the understanding that the kid hurt was number 27 and he was on the field against FW. We may have had our numbers mixed up. I sincerely hope that if he was hurt as bad as first indications that he gets better, but boy if he was back on the field the next day, that's tough.
The fields were disappointing to say the least. I would think by being within a metropolitan area like Portland that they didn't do better with the fields. The officiating is what it is and it's too bad the FW - SU game had to be decided on a PK. The referee told our goalie that he might have missed something on that call. Too bad!
The Storm and SU boys have played two great games in the last month or so. It should be fun as the season gets up and going. I think both teams are getting use to their new players and are only going to improve. I saw a lot of improvement from the Storm boys as the tournament progressed. It should be fun.

I personally cant wait to see snomish vs Eastside white. They have had some good games last year. Also the Crossfire vs Washington premier to finally decide who is number one. . i see a crossfire win because they got so big. Dont get me wrong washington preimer got big as well with the grfc captins but crossfire got the 6'2 guy from eastside. what a match both those will be.
