New NWN Coaching assignments:

BU11 R: TODD SCHILPEROORT
BU14 R: TODD SCHILPEROORT
Great news, Todd is a good man, good coach, good trainier and a great addition to NWN's coaching staff.
Does anyone know why he left HPFC, after what, one year as DOC?

Touchline Trouble and Upper V +1 for passing the lesson called "the ends do not justify the means".  Smiley  Flip Flop...think about it, please.  You seem loyal and concerned, but while you were supporting your side of the conflict, I think you stopped thinking about the tactics involved (imo).

TS is one of the best coaches I've come across.  I would not characterize him as lacking loyalty.  If I had a younger DS and wanted to make sure he would get the fundamentals down perfectly, and plenty of development, I would run, not walk, to NWN tryouts.  Well done, NWN.

Sage Dancer..I wasn't pointing at TS specifically.  I believe in building a club with loyalty, cohesion and togetherness.  All facets working together (including beauracracy) to complete the club.  With the professional coaches today moving from gig to gig and I can give you numerous examples, this is not completed in my opinion.  This hurts the development of the club and the overall program.

You're absolutely right about that, Yote.  I think, in your non-existent spare time, you would be an awesome person to volunteer for some of these open club BOD positions.  You've got the perspective - parent AND coach - and you've seen the good and the bad - and you don't have a horse in the race anymore.  It takes the good guys/girls, without agendas, and with solid values, to set the course for the kind of club you describe.

I'm not sure how that is working with the BU 14 team.  He started coaching about a month or two ago but then Nate Daligcon came back so maybe they're sharing the role. I'm sure one of the more connected parents can chime in.

It is my understanding that ND quit, without a goodbye to his players and Teddy stepped in to save the day -- and has!

As per usual Freckles speaks without any knowledge of the situation. You have no idea why ND left so don't pretend you do.
Perhaps a personal vendetta of sorts involved here just like every other one of your posts?
How exactly does his leaving one of his teams affect you? and why would you want to somehow insinuate that he's less than a nice guy when everyone who knows him would agree he is in fact a great guy?
You're always trying to stir up BS-I think I unfortunately know you.

I would have to agree that ND is a nice guy, that is why I think he will never make a great coach. From what I have seen he needs to be a little more of a  ***hole to get his piont across.. just my 2cents...

Sorry "woebegone" but Freckles is absolutely correct here. ND did quit his BU-14 team without saying good-bye to any of his players. 6 families from that team have confirmed that ND called all the parents on the team, told them he was leaving the team. He asked the parents not to say anything to the boys because he wanted to say his good byes at a scheduled practice the following day. HE NEVER SHOWED UP TO SAY THOSE GOOD-BYES.

Do you think that maybe someone told him not to bother? Just doesn't seem like the typical behavior of what you folks call a nice guy.

Nate is one of the most unassuming and nicest coaches you will ever meet. There would be many CPs and players from both NWN and Emerald City clubs that would come to his defense.  That said, do not underestimate the influence/pressure that he would have gotten from Collings (his SPU boss). Not making excuses for Nate, but both he and his wife work at SPU. That is where they make their living.

This was what I meant, if he quit as was stated, the most he would want to do is to say good bye to his teams.  If they would not allow him to do this, me myself.. I would take that as an insult.
