I know you are responsible for all this snow, but who is the idiot that wished for the freezing rain?  : evil

I had to laugh this morning when I went to let my 80lb golden retriever out this morning.  Took about three steps on that glazed over frozen snow, turned around and looked at me....her expression said "What the F@*$"!!!!

Yote, you done good this time.   Got the entire state, except for the Vancouver area.   And they are moving to Oregon, soccerwise, anyway.

69 automobile collisions in Kennewick alone the last 24 hours.  5-8 inches of snow, depending on the microclime.  between 1/4 and 1/2 inch of frozen rain fell today as well.   I emptied an entire tank of gas in a pick up plowing roads the last two days.  (Well, it gets lousy mileage on the best of times....... Tongue)

Now with a melt and refreeze coming, I expect large areas of the state to turn into giant skating rinks.
That must be XX's doing, he is always on about gymnasts, ice ballerinas, and the like.

It was crazy last night in my neighborhood.  Trees were blowing up all over the place -- looks like a war zone.  The transformers blowing also made a pretty good light show.  Not so bad when you have to go into work for power.

The ice formed a nice crust over the fallen snow today.   It was thick enough that a 200 pound man could walk on it and not break through, as often as not.

It was 23 degrees out when it started raining.  Later it became frozen rain.   Tonight is slick.  Major roads were all jammed up.  Looks like everyone who moved up here from California had to learn the hard way about snow and ice.... Lips Sealed

Hiway to Walla Walla was blocked for a while by a jackknifed semi.   On my drive home tonight, I saw that two of the 3 bridges were stopped - IN BOTH DIRECTIONS.     I have not had any trouble in any of the vehicles I have been driving the last couple of days, but I think that I will stay inside for the next day or so.   I stopped at Costco and got a case of the ales, so everything is good to go here.  Even have wood inside for the fireplace.   Heck, things are so good at home that the St Bernard has finally learned to like snow, wants to go outside and lie in it! drinks

I silently thanked Yote for the snow, then cursed whomever brought out the freezing rain crap!
This was almost as bad around here as the '96 ice storm was!
Power went out 2 times, lasting about 50 hours total. It was fine for the first day but after that it was a PITA. Hill to our house is still closed from downed trees ( even tho people are still driving up and down )
I can cook on top of the woodstove ( chili was great) and the converter I bought for the car kept the cell phones charged.
Finally dug out the generator yesterday so we could have some more lights and watch movies. Grin Saw one CP on FB that drove to Wenatchee to get a generator..  Shocked Shocked

Dogs have been funny to watch. I guess they don't like snow up their .... well, you know, and will travel in circles for many minutes before doing their business.
So who do we get to blame for the winds that are supposed to come through? Someone with alot of hot air  evil

Stay safe and warm!

I hope everyone is now with power and can get through most of the areas thst were blocked with downed trees. They just opened the main road up to my house yesterday.
While driving around yesterday, several roads around Auburn and Sumner were closed.

THANK YOU to anyone reading this that works for Puget Power, WSDOT, Comcast and those clearing trees. Without you, I'd still be sitting here going stir crazy with cabin fever!  drinks

AHHH BRAT -- YOTE still without power.  And to the clown in our neighborhood that feels they need to run the generator all night --KMA!!!!  Needless to say, the Yote household is a little cranky this morning.

I have a generator that you can use... either for your own power or to drown out the neighbor!

Thanks Brat -- but we have a generator that is working just fine, but we turn it off at 10:00 at night, so that we can all try to get some sleep.

Go over to the neighbor's house and add some sugar to his gastank.   Pretty soon you will have peace and quiet.
