Here we are again, for the 5th year in a row we get to nominate, vote on, and select a WPS Player of the Year! This is truely the funniest part of my job here on WPS! All the kids did a wonderful job this year, and each and everyone of them deserve kudos from us all. Once again the winner was selected on a point system. 1st place votes weighed in most, and the votes from "first time posters" held the least weight... BUT, everyones vote did count. To make it to the top 5 in the state as voted on by your peers, parents, coachs, and people who just read about you over the year is a Huge accomplishment!
Dragon is so proud of each and every one of you! The top 4 runner's up will be announced along with the grand prize winner... The WPS 2009 Player of the Year!!!!! 
The winner will receive:
An IPOD Touch from the wonderful Squash who has been so kind to donate this to the past winners out of his own pocket!
They also get a Banner on the Home Page of WPS for the WHOLE YEAR! It will link everyone and all first time readers of WPS to the this article!
They will also get a Dragon Heart & Fire award!
They get a "special POTY Song" written just for this occassion.
And, Best of all they get to know for the rest of their life that they were Recognized on WPS with the now Coveted Player of the Year Award!!!

Dragon and all of WPS are very proud of you! 2nd Runner Up:#19 AMANDA - CROSSFIRE PREMIER THOMAS 95! **Picture Needed Please** Anyone who has seen you play knows you will be a superstar for years to come! Dragon and all of us at WPS are very proud of you! 1st Runner Up:#3 DANIELLE - CB UNITED 95 NAVY! To be a player from Eastern Washington, and still become the Runner up in the POTY speaks a ton for your talent and skill. You should be very proud of yourself at coming so close to becoming the POTY! Dragon and all of WPS are so very very proud of you Super star! and now, our 2009 Player of the Year!!!
......drumroll........#18 JORDAN - WASHINGTON PREMIER FC BLACK 95!!!  WOW, Who would of thought when you started this journey at 4yrs of age, with your pigeon toes and pigtails that you would be the WPS 2009 PLAYER OF THE YEAR?
We all think the day you volunteered to put on those little goalie gloves and step between the posts for the first time was one of the greatest decisions you ever made! With all the dedication you put in; going to camp after camp and training your butt off it has finally paid off with this coveted award! The love and trust in your teammates shows out on the pitch at riverroad, and even on the bigger stages with the ODP team. Dragon has no doubt you will reach all your goals, and look forward to you returning to the pitch someday in Washington to impart your knowledge on other aspiring goalies! We are all so very very proud of you! Congrats on this award; May it be the first of many in your long life and playing career!
