Now this is stranger:http://www.nature.org/initiatives/climatechange/ How many have fallen for this religion? Oh wait that is Darwinism
It is all the same LF- some agree with this or that, in the end people make their own decision by doing their own research- problem is most people dont and believe what is easy to believe or for their benefit- even religion did it back in the old days

Hey Lefty, do not take my word for it. Ask Gunny or Lester if they find this offensive. (They are the only two besides myself that I know are vets). Tell Soccerflicks to ask her hubby.
This is not the first time that I have heard this story (which is true), either. I heard about it- from a buddy of mine who was actually Jewish - back when I was in the service. He laughed about it. Maybe it did affect his shooting, though, as I was a bette shot than he....

Another article about it: http://www.comcast.net/articles/news-general/20100121/US.Military.Weapons.Bible.References/As a business owner they can put anything they want on their guns or any other product they make. Their customers can request them to remove it if they wish, but to say they were "making gunsights to kill people in the name of the Lord" is a little extreme. If I owned a bra factory and put those inscriptions somewhere in the lining of the bra ( just the way that designers will put their signature or something else of significance to them like an eagle or a skull on their products) it doesn't mean that I intend to "uplift half the world's population in the name of the Lord". Maybe those verses have a personal meaning to the owner and it is as simple as that. In the article it said they have been doing it for decades and when the owner died his son just continued what had been done by his father.

If you don't see the irony in Jesus' name associated with an implement used to kill folks, then so be it. Democracy -- where everyone else has the right to be just as much of a delusional dumba$$ as me.

It doesn't matter what the product is. To claim that company was " Making Gunsights to kill poeple in the name of the Lord" could only be determined if you knew that in fact was the intent of the owner in putting that on his product. Otherwise, it is merely your personal interpretation and of course you are entitled to your opinion.

I see the point you are trying to make. Putting a bible verse that espouses the glory of God is kind of an odd thing to put on a weapon. And who knows why the owner did it but I am just looking at it from a logical point of view. If the gun sights had Ezekiel 21:31 (NIV version) on them, then that would really be controversial but the complaint was that the references to Bible passages raised concerns that the citations break a government rule that bars proselytizing by American troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, which are predominantly Muslim countries. So this makes me wonder... what about a soldier (male or female) who has a tatoo of a cross or John 3:16 on their forearm? Would they call that proselytizing? I guess you could make the case for irony there too Left Foot because after all, who pulls the trigger?

Not just the Glory of God, cause there is a wrathful God and one rather more forgiving. But the glory of Jesus, who would, by many accounts, turn the other cheek. There are other folks who write bible versus on weapons and say prayers.....while flying planes into buildings of civilians. I think we are trying to differintiate ourselves from that lot.

Back in the Day, it used to be common to have all sorts of things scribbled on bombs. Some of the bombs were dropped on the enemy troops, some on the enemy infrastructure, some on the enemie's cities. Bible verses were included, but not the most common thing....
