Holy cow ...so far i want to have more beers or wine if I'm going to tolerate the Sounders tonight. We are simply pathetic in the first half and the booze can't kill the feeling!!!!!

It also makes me realize Bob Bradley is an idiot for not playing Edson B more over Alti$$nore..... GrRrRrRrr

People in Seattle if this continues are going to need lots of hugs wink
Hugs aren't going to help Squash. Can we get a whole keg in here?  Undecided

Maybe a couple of kegs is what we need - of straight Ethanol.

I hate to say it, but the old guys have to go.    We need to start picking up young players like Omar Gonzalez and keeping them.   Most of the salary is going to old farts who are so slow that when they trip over themselves, it looks like slo-mo replay for them to even hit the ground.

Sure, many people are on the "Kill Sigi Now" bandwagon.   I'd like to see what he can come up with over the next two-three years if he is allowed to work on developing a team.

Sometimes less is more.   How many people think that Germany would be doing as well if Ballack were still playing and still captain?    If we jettisoned over paid paperwights like Vagina, and played kids like Nyassi and Montano more, we might not do better this year, but we would next year, and the year after, and the year after........

that goal for Dallas NEVER should have happened!
Sounders put no pressure on FCD mid field to the 18, and with FCD hanging out there ( the 18 ) it was going to go in, it was just a matter of time.
Errant passes, loose passes also cost the Sounders, as did the red card on Montano.

It was great to soak up so much atmosphere between the marchers coming down the road to, the band playing and all that GREEN!

I don't get it. The 5th highest paid player in MLS isn't playing and that isn't news? Are folks afraid to raise this for some reason?

Club said he picked up an ankle injury in training so wasn't available yesterday. The 'news' will be if he doesn't get back into the starting 11 once he's fit again.

Another A Hah moment! I think I was pretty much narrowly focused on the WC at this point and being at the game, meant I didn't here any of the commentator chatter that may have mentioned it.
Good stuff.

I don't see Marquez going to New York.  It would be another nice reason to hate them, though.

Henry signing this week, followed by a transfer of Llungberg (who fits the hints) and then bringing in a real contributor to the team - (WHO?) would be nice.  It would give the MLS NY franchise a boost in popularity but also allow the Sounders to bring in someone who can make a positive difference.

Ah but the NY page had a Q&A with their honcho, and it came out that the big signing from Europe had yet to sign his contract but things were being worked out, announcement on Thursday.   And their 3rd DP was in the works, with it being someone who had played with Henry, oops, the 2nd DP in Europe with their club, a midfielder who could play several positons and so on.   So it sounds like perhaps Llungberg who played with Henry in England, if memory serves.

Perhaps we could get an "I love NY" T-shirt for him?

Actually, if we could end up with Raul, I would consider it a great deal.

Speaking of locker rooms...

http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/hanauer-sounders-open-all-roster-options

Ljungberg’s absence on Sunday coincided with a noticeable shift in Seattle’s starting lineup, with several veterans making way for youngsters. After the match, it was noted that Ljungberg’s locker at Qwest Field had been moved to the far wall, with 19-year-old Miguel Montaño now occupying his space.

I doubt that Marquez is going anywhere.   Barcelona has lost Chygrinski and Yaya Toure.   If Marquez leaves, they will be all out of thugs.   Helb can't help them there, and neither could Cesc.   Of course, they could buy another thug, but money is tight in Barcelona right now.
