Just stating a fact that this "coach" has not always recruited kids based on their talent. I have witnessned this first hand as one of my DK used to play for him. |

Crossfire certainly needs to do something, and something credible at that.
If this goes before the WYS Coaches Ethics Committee - and it should - then the coach is going to half to change the spelling of his name to "KNEEL".
Seriously, there are some guidelines for dealing with coaches who make these sorts of transgressions. If Crossfire continues in a cover up, they will end up getting slapped by the state as well.

This is not the first time that we have seen such turnabout in coaching. My biggest concern isn't how hard Meggie's wrist is going to be slapped for all the various crimes and misdeeds, it is what form the retaliation will take against those who refused to look the other way. |

Don't know about his younger team(s), but the GU18 team was pretty weak. Condition of his coming over was that certain players from his old club came with - never mind if they were better or worse than the three or four LIFETIME Xfire girls (on the team since U11) he cut to make room for his new girls. This at U18, the last year for these girls. And look how it turned out - they were a weak team in league, in tournaments and didn't even make it out of the prelim rounds in state cup.
And he is supposed to be an uber-coach?

As do most other clubs including my own. Just try to keep it away from your kids and let them enjoy soccer with the best possible coach you can find for them. LWYSA has a clear "Standard of conduct:" ~ expectations for Coaches, Players, Parents. Coaches are charged with the responsibility ok keeping a positive attitude toward all of the players on the team, opponents and parents. .....should remember that the Association for their team gives them an adult supervisory role and ..... are expected to be a good role model for youth soccer players. ..... also have responsibility for teaching the tactics and techniques of the game as well as instilling Sportsmanship and respect in their players toward the game |

However, the club is not the only responsible party if something is not done to censor this individual. Parents are responsible for who they allow to interact with their kids. Why are the parents not protesting to the club? Why are they not moving their kids to other teams? A number of years ago we left a state championship team mid-year... the final straw for us was an ugly incident similar to this current allegation, but it occurred in front of the kids.[/list]

guess what? Since I do not have a kid on one of the teams coached by this coach and I don't even have a kid in the club... it's not my job to do your investigating for you. That would be your job. If you are wholly convinced that this coach is a good role model and influence for your kid, then I guess you're ok. There have been plenty of examples of people being vilified on these forums with no basis in truth. In our case, we personally witnessed the incidence(s) with our coach and left the team. My 2 & 1/2 cents is that clubs across the board have politics, back door dealing and cover-ups apart from the general membership. Some coaches have integrity and some coaches know how to make a team successful at whatever level they play. And some few know how to be good at both. Find one of those, regardless of the "club".
