How about giving this one a rest?
Has anyone not done something that was bad?
Have they, then, not been chastised for such a thing?
Was it done publicly or in private so that it might not be something that is totally embarrassing?
I do not know all the facts. I was not there. All I hear is one side of this story.
But, I do think that it has been dealt with. I think that they will probably be watching. I think that I am entirely, wholey, and utterly tired of Megson bashing at this moment.
I don't condone what he did (if he did it). If I was involved personally, I would want assurances. But, WE (the WPS community) have dragged this through the mud, muck, and sewer long enough. Let it be.
If it comes back up, that will be quite a bummer.
But, let's hope that the rantings and ravings of those who kept this up, have helped to change behavior here.

Please? Problem easily solved - don't read this thread. Those of us who are still interested in this issue due to Crossfire's inordinate influence on Washington youth soccer would like to see this continue. I've learned quite a bit from the time this thread was started and believe the final word on the issue has yet to be spoken. Frankly, I think this may turn out to be one of the most far-reaching discussions ever conducted on this site, because the general topic is so important and timely. I've referred numerous soccer parents here so they can see how important it is to be more involved in your kids' sports. If Duffer hadn't brought this out and kept beating the drum the whole issue might have been quickly and quietly swept under the rug. This way maybe a few more parents will ask hard questions of their kids' (insert sport here) coach/club. I've been guilty in the past of trying to get Duffer to shut up, but I've come to realize that those people willing to speak out against injustice, however abusively, are performing a valuable service to us all. If you don't like the message, change the channel, don't censor the messenger. |

How long is it that it needs to be rehashed.
Yes, I can just not read this thread. That is not the point.
The point has been made over and over again.
By this time, Crossfire has done something about it, or they have not. If not, then those who think their children should not be around that group, should get them out. The others will continue to play for him and for Crossfire.
Duffer will do as he pleases. I would hope, though, that somewhere deep down in his twisted mind, that he can see the benefit of leaving it. Moving on to the next topic. Get onto to something we don't know yet.
I am NOT a Crossfire fan. I have had too many experiences with the deceptions that they use to get players to play for them to ever think of the organization as something I would want to be a part of (at least at this time in their organization).
I am not saying this should be swept under the rug.
But enough is enough.
If you want to point people to the thread. Feel free. It is not going away. Store off the URL, use it as you wish.

let's consider the coach that was threatened and consider this a service to his well being if nothing else. if you don't believe what's written here, or are tired of the message and it's author(s), don't make these comments your basis for belief. What I mean is, if you're tired of duffer and the rest of the posters here repeating the same message, don't let that feeling make you sympathetic to the problem. If you don't think there's a problem, great. Say so. Perhaps you'll make others sympathetic to the subject(s) of this thread. Attacking the author(s) isn't the best way to show which way your believe. I believe Duffer is standing up for the kids, the sport, and those that may lay in harms way in his view. And to me, he's taken on a huge task. I'm impressed, if by nothing else, by his tenacity and unwaivering commitment. I don't know anyone in this thread but do find it interesting reading. What a great guy what stupid parents he has :twisted: Actually, looking at last year's standings the 94s were 13th out of 14 teams in PDL A. Because of that and the fact that the PDL decided to break into 6 team groups they were automatically put into the third division where they belong. Amy Lombard was the coach last year, so "who me", I'd look at Amy instead of Neil for the reason they're still in the third division. As for this summer going by BCs rankings for end of last year: Crossfire Amy 16th Now Crossfire Black 12th From the outside looking in the Black team has been doing pretty well with Megson. Dragon even put them in his top ten! The Black team is looking more like an A team than a B team. The numbers don't lie, it sure doesn't look like these parents are stupid. |

What I love about crossfir
They have a kid write a story about his natonal team exsperance and its posted third after all there filthy cash begging topics SAD
So here it is great Job Kid you make the rest of the state proud even if your club thinks its not the most important topic duffer does
So I just recently got back from South America on a trip with the U18 MNT. It was one of the most amazing trips of my life. While we were down there we played four games. Three of those were against U20 national teams from Venezuela, Paraguay, and Uruguay. It was a tournament in a small city called Flores, Uruguay. Being my first national team trip I didn’t know what to expect. I ended up starting and playing every minute of every game and even got my first international goal in our 1-0 win over Paraguay. We ended up taking third place with a 1-0 loss to Venezuela and a 3-1 loss to Uruguay in front of 1,500 people. After the tournament wrapped up, we took a ferry to Buenos Aires and stayed there for the remainder of the trip. On the second to last day we played Estudiantes de la Plata, but lost 3-0. They were a great team and it seemed like nobody had anything left in their tanks. Overall it was a great experience. I’m glad I got the opportunity. Now I am off to Sunrise, Florida for a U20 MNT camp where we will play Guatemala two times.

(August 13, 2008) Early in July, Crossfire G92 A Schmetzer midfielder Isabel Farrell was selected to the 2008-09 Olympic Development Program National Player Pool for the 1994 (U-14) age group, identifying Isabel as one of the 100 top players from across the country in this age group. Two weeks later, Isabel then attended the ODP National Camp in California at Cal Poly Pomona, with the hopes of being selected to the 18-player U-14 National Team.
After an impressive camp performance that included a goal scored in every match played, Isabel was been selected to the 18-player U-14 National Team. Congratulations Isabel on this incredible national recognition!
Isabel and the U-14 National Team will be playing later this month in Carson, CA in the 2008 Women’s Nike Friendlies. This tournament features elite youth teams from across the country and will be played at The Home Depot Center From Aug. 21-24.
